Getting Started
What is the purpose of the first session?
The first session gives you the opportunity to describe your problems and what your goals are. It is a time for us to see if both of us feel comfortable with each other before engaging in the therapy process. It is also a time for me to understand you better and see if I can help you with what you are going through and decide what type of treatment is necessary to help you reach faster your treatment goals.
What can I expect during our first session?
During the first session, we will review the consent for services, limits of confidentiality, and additional paperwork I would have previously sent you by email for you to complete before our session. Also, I will perform an assessment to better understand you, your background, presenting problems, and your goals for treatment.
